The speed that lots are offered in varies greatly, in smaller regional auctions the pace could be a rate of around 20 lots per hour, whereas in London and other metropolitan cities where catalogues are often much larger, the speed could be faster at 30 lots per hour. These figures are for guidance only as speeds vary enormously – those wishing to bid should ensure that they arrive in the room well ahead of when the lot will be offered.
