As we move forward in the final quarter of the year, we reflect on the big events of 2023 - from the release of Prince Harry's book ‘Spare’ to NASA’s announcement of their first planned journey to the moon in over 50 years. Prince Charles became King and Elton John headlined at Glastonbury and subsequently retired from touring. Collins Dictionary announced “AI” as the most notable word of the year and Harry Styles’ album “Harry’s House” lit up the music scene earning him the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
Well, that’s Harry’s House but what happened for Auction House Sussex & Hampshire in 2023?
We’ve had a very successful year here at Auction House Sussex & Hampshire. Although there have been economic challenges in the property market, our database of 7000+ applicants and our experience as one of the largest property auctioneers in the Southeast of England have allowed us to consistently achieve high sale results.
In addition, we have expanded into timed online National Auctions to provide more flexibility to our clients, and we have strengthened our business presence by acquiring Auction House Hampshire.
We were also delighted to see Adam Hinchliffe (Auction Department Manager) take up his position as Partner at Austin Gray LLP heading up the Auction and Private Treaty Department. With his client focused approach, we are excited to see how we as a business will move forward in 2024.
As we prepare our auction lots for next year - our first auction takes place on January 25th with Stewart Gray at the rostrum and with weekly timed auctions every Tuesday – we’re excited to see what 2024 has in store and to continue to deliver for our clients.
If you have a property to sell and the pace of the auction contract is what you’re looking for with a standard 28-day completion, do get in touch and get the new year off to an exciting start!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the team at Auction House Sussex & Hampshire and Austin Gray LLP.
